The hotel looks new, but it is very noisy as it is next to a university and gym. We could hear people moving furniture around late in the night and in the morning. This seems like a hotel for people training in hospitality. The only plus was the breakfast, as it’s a nice buffet from cereal to fruit and hard boiled eggs.

excellent location, the rooms were large and nicely decorated. the breakfast was varied and tasty. staff are very nice and helpful.
parking is a bit complicated because the centric location- there are some garages nearby but it is hard to understand how to get to them because a lot of streets around are one way and under construction

Very nice hotel, conveniently located within walking distance of the city center and very close to the last stop of the airport bus.
Good size rooms, very clean, kind and helpful staff. A good choice in Torino.

Nice to see how this is still kept in such a city. Sadly only poor souvenir shops and not much info to collect. Would be a nice place for medieval themed events (which might already be organized though?). After that always good to have a stroll through the park around it!

Sad to see that there is no information in English. Castle doors were open, so we went in not knowing that we needed to buy a ticket for that. Staff was very unfriendly after discovering that we went in without buying a ticket. We would have bought one if we knew we needed to. So please make signs in English or learn to speak English so the experience of this beautiful castle will be better for non Italian speaking persons

I went to La Rocca with guide for small group on 2/06/2021. The lady was a very nice and kind. One star missing because of only everything in Italian language and they don’t have audio recordings, only brochure ( a big note book) which you have to give back after excursions. At the moment the garden is closed.

Borgo Medievale

The place is very unique and clean, the staff is nice.
I got my food after some minutes so they are fast and the burger were very tasty and delicious. The bun itself was good. The fries very normal, nothing special.

We tried protein burgers without buns, so about buns I've no idea, but burgers were juicy and delicious. Also mixed fries were something new for me, however it was exceptionally tasty.
There are also burgers for vegans with beyond. Additionally restaurant has nice, colourful and attractive design.

The beyond meat tastes amazing and is 100% worth a try, but the portions are sadly way too small and it’s not as “special” as you would want it to be.

The Castle of Valentino (Italian: Castello del Valentino) is a historic building in the northwestern Italian city of Turin. It is located in Parco del Valentino, and is the seat of the Architecture Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Turin. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.

The ancient castle was bought by Duke Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy on the advice of Andrea Palladio. The name Valentino, first mentioned in 1275, seems to derive from a saint called Valentine whose relics were venerated in a church which stood nearby.

The current structure is due to Princess Christine of France (1606–1663), wife of Victor Amadeus I, who dwelt here from 1630. Architect Carlo di Castellamonte renovated the construction substantially, with the help of his son Amedeo. Works started around 1633 and lasted until 1660.

It has a horseshoe shape, with four rectangular towers, one at each angle, and a wide inner court with a marble pavement. The ceilings of the false upper floors are clearly in transalpino (i.e. French) style. The façade sports a huge coat of arms of the House of Savoy.

Minor modifications were made in the early nineteenth century; at this time, too, much of the seventeenth-century furniture was carried off by French troops. For the next half century the palace was more or less abandoned and fell into a state of disrepair. Renovations were carried out in 1860 when it was selected as the seat of the engineering faculty of Turin; it has been further restored in recent years.

Today it is the central building of the Architecture faculty of the Polytechnic University of Turin.

Lovely view point to see Torino. Not too steep to get to and those who don’t like heights will find it an accessible spot at which to enjoy the views

A nice place to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. A bit of a walk but the view is amazing. Try going early in the morning when no one is around.
Bonus point : you can actually see Ronaldo's house from here.

Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini

Food is very delicious and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is nice (we spent 2 hours there) and the staff/owners are very friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

The food was good. A few options for vegetarians. Their baos are good but in order to be full you need to order many dishes.

Cute little dumplings for you to enjoy, ideally with some good Chinese tea (now that's a nice potential idea, isn't it?)

I did not like the fact that they charge more than how much you feel like you are actually getting

Also, the soup dumplings come with a broth pipe and you are supposed to squeeze it into your dumpling before eating it
The only problem with this method is that, while it makes perfect sense for takeaway/delivery, it does lack of effectiveness when eating in the restaurant
It will randomly squeeze out of the dumpling rather than inside due to the lack of space in it
The broth is good though, that's why each wasted drop is a little tear for your palate

In terms of taste, they were very good, but different from what you might expect

Usually people expect strong, occasionally overpowering, deep and intense umami and fatty flavor, yet this is not the case.
You'll taste a mild flavor but of each ingredient, which goes a long way with talking and eating it as a snack with tea rather than a full luch/dinner

As I've said, I would love to see this more similar to the traditional tea houses in China in which you could eat these delicious dumpling as a side

Dumpling Sunday

This place is AMAZING. Must see it in Turin. Fabulous museum of cinema (not only for the people whose like movies but for all of us!). Additionally there is a panoramic lift-it goes upstairs the Mole and the view is magnificent. Ticket for the museum and for panoramic lift costs 15 euros. You can buy also the ticket for the one attraction if you would like to. I recommend buy tickets online, you won't be waiting in the queue for the tickets office.

🇮🇹🗼🇮🇹 La Mole is definitely the symbol of Torino. You can find La Mole also on the 2 Cents EUR coin. From outside is impressive and it's worth a picture. To visit inside you have two options: To take the panoramic elevator till the upper terraces, to visit the Museum of the Cinema (or best options to do both). Elevator queue can be long in the weekend (better to book in advance). From the terraces you will have a 360 degree view of Torino. Restroom and a book shop are available before to take the elevator. Enjoy! 👍🏻

One of the best museums I have ever visited. Mostly focused on Italian cinema history (naturally) but a fantastic exhibition on film and cinema generally from the technology to the stories. The building really helps the presentation as the exhibition winds up the interior of this landmark. Get a combined ticket and ride the panoramic lift up through the exhibition to the top of spire and take in some amazing views of Turin. Book your ticket online in advance.

Mole Antonelliana

When we told people we were going to Torino, everyone talked excitedly about the Egyptian Museum, and for good reason — it is truly a wealth of Eyptian artifacts!

I was genuinely awed several times throughout. There are mummies aplenty and beautiful sarcophagi to admire. They have many things to wow you, but the most impressive to me was that they had an actual ancient Egyptian temple inside. It was given by Egypt in appreciation for Italy’s archaeological help.

Truly impressive. We did a guided 2 hour tour, which skipped some things, so I could have easily spent more time. I’d say 3+ hours minimum if you want to really absorb everything.

This museum has great collection. If you're interested in Egyptology, the place serves you well. They have guided tours in English and Italian languages, and it's worth opting for one. Please make sure to book online about 2 weeks in advance to make sure you have slots available for the day of visit. Usually the queues are long and the tickets at the counter are sold out quickly.

Very nice spot. The treasures from Egypt are wonderful and very well conservated. The museum is really impressive with its permanent exhibition. The temporary one is adding value to its collection by presenting and explaining methods and tools owned by scientists in archeology.
I would say it has to be visited. Improvements can be on the visitor path. We do not always know where to go.

Museo Egizio

One of the highlights and must see places in Turin. The Royal rooms are extravagant and contain all original furniture, art and decor. It's different from other Royal room footprints in that the rooms are not always linear. Just when you think the tour ends you round a corner and find other significant rooms. Of particular interest is the direct access to the chapel that has the Shroud of Jesus encased in the alter. A moving and memorable experience.

A step back through time as one tours the palace and sees artifacts held by the royal Savoy family. The collections of art and figurines allows one's mind to transcend back to the 1600s and forward. The armory was fascinating as it shows the progression of armor as well as the various designs coming from one region to another. The formal dining room is enchanting with all the crystal and the ballroom holds energy just waiting for its next gathering. I really enjoyed this glimpse into the past and the artwork is just amazing.

This place is definitely a must visit. Everything is amazingly beautiful and well keep. The smell inside the palace from vintage furniture is gorgeous, it makes you time travel back to old ages.  Staffs are super friendly and supportive all time, no rush at all.

Palazzo Reale di Torino

🏞️ Peaceful yet energizing.

This park is the best around Turin in my humble opinion, since there are many activities one can do.

You can either visit the castle, the rocky garden, or rent a 4 person bicycle and have some fun with your family/friends.

I suggest you to visit the Castle, although it's small, it has small shops with interesting gifts.

If you just like to chill, just buy a drink and some snacks from the bars nearby, and enjoy the street artists in the area.

Calm, Serene. Perfect place for a walk. You can visit the castle in the midst of the park.
Bonus fact : In the early days of Formula 1 they used to use the roads here as the race track.

Chill park to hang out, listen to music, ride a bike and hang out with friends. It gets busy in the evenings with more people hanging out but the vibes in the evening make it even better. Picnics are a great idea on Parco del Valentino. Castle is also a great place to take epic pictures

🌇 Marvelous buildings.

Piazza Castello has some of the best architecture on their buildings.

I suggest you to visit all of them, and if you enjoy shopping to continue your tour towards Via Garibaldi or Via Roma, although my favorite is Via Garibaldi.

It goes without saying that making a visit to Piazza Castello an absolute must in Turin is not a difficult feat. This iconic square is the heart of Torino, and the spot where its history and modern lifestyle intertwine seamlessly. It's the perfect place to start your day in the city, or end it with a beautiful sunset, so make sure you leave some time to enjoy this piece of Italian heritage.

It was interesting to learn the history of the orogin of Italy, the role that the "military" and the monarchy played and how they had a symbiotic relationship. This place is laden with history. The architecture and art is beautiful.

Piazza Castello

Massive grand piazza in the middle of Turin. One of the main sights of the city so make sure not to miss! Close to other attractions and landmarks, nice architecture and plenty of cafes and restaurants, most with outdoor seating, perfect for a quick coffee or bite to eat.

There was a local farmers market by chance yesterday selling vegetables, cheeses, salami, jam and other foods. Fantastic, gigantic piazza to walk around!

Piazza Vittorio Veneto

The lady in the entrance wasn’t speaking English at all, was rude and annoyed with us that we don’t know Italian.
For the palace, the entrance of 20€ isn’t worth for what you can see inside the palace. The places that are open to the public are very few at the moment. The gardens were beautiful, totally worth to visit them from May and after cause now they weren’t totally bloom.
If you have the Torino card like me it’s totally worth to go even if it’s far from Turin, cause it’s free.

Beautiful place to visit near Turin city. There are amazing restaurants near the palace which offer great food. The palace is very nice to visit from inside as well as the gardens !! Beautiful view indeed !!

The peacock cage is a catastrophe. To keep the these beautiful birds in such a small cage is a crime.  Please make it bigger.
