Cute place but not good value for money. The toilets were not clean, we found rat feces in the sink and didn’t seem to have been sanitized at all. The room looks good and are surely great for instagram, but when night time hits the rats come crawling.

The staff was kind enough to switch us to the family sized bungalow but here too we had rats in the room keeping us awake all night. Plus the bed sheets don’t seem to be cleaned between every stay, at least not for us.

We stayed 3 different places on the island, this was however the worst in terms of cleanliness but also the most expensive.

Staff is kind enough, the place is cute, but have to give it 1 star because the cleanliness level was very low.

When we first checked-in in our bungalow, we found a rat crawling in the bathroom and noticed that the sink was full of rat poop. The second night, the staff was kind enough to move us to another bungalow because there was a rat in our room as well.

We moved to a bigger bungalow but it felt like neither the bathroom nor the bed sheets had been cleaned between the previous guests and us. In this bigger bungalow we also couldn’t sleep because of a rat inside (for the third time) and after 2 nights there we left the place with our body completely full of flea bites.

The place has lots of potential, but since the beautiful view on the beach can be enjoyed from every single corner of the island, the fact that cleanliness was so low makes it impossible for me to recommend it to anyone else.

My review is based on the below:

- No Hot Water from the shower or sink... despite the fact it is warm outside doesn't mean you want to shower with cold water
- No AC.... hence really hot inside 🥵
- Rooms smell like mold due to high humidity and lack of any AC.
- WC is outside in a separate cottage

- Rooms seemed a bit old, door handles were broken...we had trouble closing the door at all...., the door of the bathroom was also half broken....
- Definitely the place needs renovation
- Any sort of lizards and rodents can be found in your room so keep your luggage closed at all times.......
- After sunset the place had no outside lights, so we needed a torch to walk there as it was complete darkness.....
- The lady from the staff who welcomed us was extremely unfriendly and grumpy tbh....😑
all the rest of the staff and locals were really kind and hospitable 🥰

After 1 night we ended up booking another place nearby which was far better...we couldn't stand to live in this place with all sorts of animals crowling on us.....

We never asked for full refund but I doubt they would have given...... considering the attitude.....

Maybe for backpackers this place is OK, but if you are looking for some comfort and tranquility I don't find this place as such.

The only good thing is the place has some bigger sand area with hamaks where you can chill.

Bamboo Jam Resort

Abbiamo partecipato ad una escursione in barca durata tutto il pomeriggio fino a sera, abbiamo fatto snorkeling, visitato l'unico villaggio dell'isola, il villaggio era molto semplice e per questo super affascinante e incastonato in un paesaggio a dire poco spettacolare, siamo andati a vedere il tramonto da un pub in cima ad un view point, ci siamo dilettati nella pesca e abbiamo poi cenato grigliando anche quello che avevamo pescato, tutto super delizioso. E infine il momento tanto atteso, si era fatto buio, eravamo con la barca in mezzo al mare e il mare era diventato un tutt'uno col cielo nero, ci siamo tuffati e finalmente lo vediamo: il plancton bioluminescente danzava con noi nell'acqua, sembrava che il cielo si fosse ribaltato e di nuotare tra le stelle.

I recently visited M'pai Bay village on the island and it was a wonderful experience. Although the village is small, the happiness of the people in the area and their warm hospitality made my stay memorable. The villagers were extremely helpful and friendly, which added to the charm of the place.

There are only a few accommodations available for guests, but the atmosphere and surroundings more than make up for it. The village is located with the sea on one side and surrounded by nature which provides a calming and soothing environment, perfect for an escape from city life. The cool sea breeze adds to the tranquility of the area.

Best island ever. Till it last. Come if you want real life and beautiful people, friendly locals, good restaurants and bar with more some good music. Pristine sea and jungle, not too many bugs. Not a party island though, a paradise to relax e get in contact with real Cambodian people and open minded travellers

This place is no longer what you see in the "pretty pictures". Feels like being inside of a dumpster. There's garbage everywhere, abandoned buildings (not as in "cool abandoned buildings to explore", more like in "full of junk and bugs, smelly abandoned bungalows". There is construction, and left-over construction materials everywhere. The water does not seem clean. Everything is expensive (cheaper than Sarracen Beach, but still expensive for Cambodia's standards). In my opinion, the nearby islands in Thailand are waaay nicer (Koh Kut, Koh Chang...). This place has been ruined forever, unless they make some serious and complex sanitizing effort.

Koh Rong Sanloem - un angolo di paradiso

We took part in a boat excursion that lasted all afternoon until the evening, we snorkeled, visited the only village on the island, the village was very simple and therefore super fascinating and set in a landscape that was nothing short of spectacular, we went to watch the sunset from a pub at the top of a view point, we enjoyed fishing and then had dinner grilling what we had caught, all super delicious. And finally the long-awaited moment, it had gotten dark, we were with the boat in the middle of the sea and the sea had become one with the black sky, we dived in and finally we saw it: the bioluminescent plankton danced with us in the water , it felt like the sky had turned upside down and you were swimming among the stars.

After days of excursions and adventures, we treat ourselves to a few days of relaxation on the island of Koh Rong Sanloem, we preferred her to 'Koh Rong' due to her being wilder and more uncontaminated, in fact there is only one village on this island. ..
