Absolutely loved this hotel. The location was fantastic, really close to the subway station (bit tricky to navigate at first but once you figure it out it was super convenient). The views from the lobby were beautiful, we even got a glimpse of Mt Fuji on a clear day. The staff were really helpful. We had an issue with our luggage from Yamato luggage transportation service and they helped us to sort it out. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would love to stay here again one day.

Park Hotel was perfection!! Easy to find, great view (hotel starts on the 25th floor), great coffee/water for free daily, little cafe for breakfast and/or drinks, and location!!!!! We walked everywhere!! It’s was so convenient! We even walked to a local gym that offered day pass use!

Rooms were a little shabby (could use some TLC) but overall were relatively clean (cosmetic issues more so than grunge) and east to keep cool (essential given heat temps were 100 degrees during our stay). Place was quiet and overall a really nice hotel. We would absolutely stay there again if we ever return to Tokyo!!

My stay at Park Hotel Tokyo was quite a conflicting one. My partner and I initially had a good impression of the hotel -  decorations were beautiful, views of the city were great and the proximity to the station made it very easy to get to and from other areas. However, through our stay problems started to pop up:
1. The sound from the train is quite audible, even from the 34th floor and my partner said it woke her up occasionally
2. There is a bit of a learning curve trying to navigate the hotel and going into the subway station
3. I could only locate one washer and dryer in the hotel and the iron provided in the washing room did not function at all. Only sprayed water everywhere and got my clothes wet
4. Finally, worst of all, I believe that my watch was stolen from my room. I never misplace my watches or take them off when I go out so I have reason to suspect that it was taken when we were out from the hotel. I even looked through all my bags, every nook and cranny, and even in the trash. Unfortunately, I had neglected to lock it away because I was under the impression that Japan was a very safe country and the hotel was reputable, but it seems that you can never let your guard down. I told the staff what had happened and I received very little help or concern about the situation. They told us that they hired a separate cleaning company for the rooms so there was nothing much they could do in this situation. They did say that they searched the room twice but nothing turned up.
Overall, I wish that I could give this hotel a good review, but there were just one too many problems that added up during my stay and I will not be returning to Park Hotel again.

Park Hotel Tokyo

Probably no other store offers a wider range of retro game items more than Super Potato! 💖 Admittedly, not the easiest to spot since it has a pretty underwhelming entrance. You have to take a really dated looking elevator going up. I've been there twice in the course of 4 years and i was led to believe it was under renovation but it has not changed one bit! 😂

The store can be pretty overwhelming if you're not entirely sure what you're looking for. Despite the separate floors indicating which consoles/games can be found there, you're pretty much on your own. They offer even secondhand gaming consoles and a variety of accessories, chargers, memory cards and equipments you can't simply find just anywhere! 💖

It's definitely worth a visit despite how compact the place is. I highly recommend this place!

Overrated. That’s unfortunately my view of this place. I know it’s a big thing among retro fans, and while they have tons of stuff, it’s clearly built as a tourist trap. Prepare to spend if you want stuff.

Of course, if you are looking for something special, they are likely to have it. That’s the big draw. If you’re not however, there are better places in the area for used games.

Fun little nugget - you’re unlikely to meet any locals here. I only saw (quite a few) westerners in the store.

An amazing spot for all things retro gaming in the heart of Akihabara. Prices can be a little high for certain items, I was looking for a Nintendo DS but went elsewhere in the end as the one they had in stock was ¥40,000!
There are plenty of bargains to be found if you've got the time to root around though.
The old school arcade on the top floor offers a good selection of classics. I enjoyed a few games of Street Fighter II, and at ¥100 a pop that's money well spent. Great fun

Akihabara

There are too many gachapons, but whether there are over 3000 of them is questionable.

There were many repetitive gachapons, and some of them were empty, too.

It took me about 1 hour to check the place and make a few turns on the gachapons.

Insane number of gachapon machines! If you really took your time to look through every single machine, it would take around 1-2hours to clear through the whole area. At first it might seem like the machines only filled up one hall but there is actually another hall behind the first one with even more machines. But don’t expect every machine to be unique. You would sometimes see certain collections repeat a few times across the entire hall but it still doesn’t discount the fact that this place probably has the widest selection of gachapon machines in Tokyo.

This place is a bit hard to find if u come at 9pm. It’s at 3rd floor.

There are two section, behind it got more machines. Next to toilet inside.

Gashapon Ikebukuro Main Store

We couldn’t take the photos inside. But it was a fun day. There are many valuable collections that reflect the history of creating Ghibli animation films inside.
The museum is a little smaller than we expected but may be this is because of the crowd.
Overall, this museum may not be as big as other museums, I was satisfied because I could see the amazing processes of creating ghibli animation films and I could feel how hard they worked for the details of each frame.

Just my personal comment, great works only come from hardworking, continuous progresses and concentration.

It was such a treat to visit this place! Oh God, I don't know where to begin.. There is something magical about anything related to Ghibli. The fact that we had the opportunity to book the tickets was amazingly and made the experience extra special! As you know, you need to book tickets 3 months in advance! And we were able to buy them only 2 months before, which was extremely hard.
We couldn't take photos inside the exhibitions as it wasn't allowed, but that made it even magical because you can't expect what you'll see..

The museum is 3 floors, 3 exhibitions, 2 shops, a cafe, and a roof that has the robot from the movie Castle in the Sky, which you can reach when climbing a ladder inside a tower covered with plants.
There is also a unique, peaceful garden downstairs.

You can't enter the museum before your booked time, so make sure to give yourself 3 -4 hours to enjoy all details without rushing it as the museum will close at 5 pm.

It was super easy to get to the museum from Mitaka Station. You'll find a bus stop for Ghibli and a themed bus as well (Stop #9).

When you're done, don't leave! Explore the peaceful park around the museum, it's has a lake with swan boats, cafes, and more. There is also a near street with vintage clothing shops.

Magically detailed and beautiful, a MUST for fans, kids, and artists.

There are many rooms that highlight the animation process, story boarding, coloring, and character movement. It seems like there are little secrets hidden everywhere you look. There is also a showing of an unreleased short film, for which you get a souvenir ticket stub that has see-through cells from a movie.
Nice gift shop and cafe.

You will need to book tickets one month in advance.

Ghibli Museum

Extremely fresh sushi at relatively reasonable prices. Came here for dinner on a weekday and it was packed. Good mix of tourists and locals. English menus available.

Get the sushi set as it’s the best bang for your buck. You can add on dishes on the side if that’s not enough. Everything was fantastic.

Highlights were the chutoro (fatty and rich), uni (creamy & decadent) & oysters (fresh!). Service was terrific as well. Highly recommended

Great sushi. I got the 4500 yen dinner set, which comes with:
- Egg custard
- 12 pieces of nigiri
- Dessert (for us, some jellies and pineapple)

The sushi is really good. My only qualm is the rice could be a little fresher/warmer. Besides that, everything was amazing.

Super delicious, reasonably priced, fast, and really friendly!! This specialty platter is ¥2500 and the miso soup it comes with is delicious too. I would definitely go back but if I did I would order it without wasabi because it seemed like they put on way more than other restaurants. I felt like I got a professional sinus clearing lol

Ginza Sushi Marui

My experience at this hotel was wonderful. The room was small or compact, but clean. The bathroom spotless. The amenities were top-notch, shampoo, shower soap, toothbrush, towels, pajamas, slippers, coffee/teas, bottles water, hair dryer, cotton buds, brush, humidifier. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic stay!

Had a triple room (3 single beds). Space was more than enough. I don't know what people expect to do in their rooms on big city holidays, play tennis?, but it was absolutely fine and well fitted out. Shower/bathroom was a wet room design, which worked well. Location is 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station which is ultra busy. The area around the hotel is also busy but felt completely safe day and night. A 7/11 shop on ground floor is handy for drinks and snacks, with many restaurants and shops just moments away. The hotel staff are very helpful.

My family had a good time staying at this hotel. The hotel's location was so convenient with shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, and bars in walking distance. They were mostly open so late so you would never have to go sleep with an empty stomach. The minus point was the room being so small, but it made us spend more time outside and explore the city.

Godzilla

Nothing much to say… it’s a small statue of a dog where foreigners where lining up to take photos of it. Is this why some people come to Japan? I think it’s very overrated… no need to see. But if you want to, take the JR exit of the Shibuya station. It’s directly there.

Japan has 2 very famous animal. One is a cat and the other is a dog. This place Is the memorial of this famous dog. And next to this place is the famous shibuya crossing

Hachiko Gate, an exit that is usually swarmed with visitors whenever they visit Shibuya, likewise, I found myself amongst the rest, waiting patiently for my turn to keep Hachiko in my album too. One of the locals I bumped into shared that regardless weekdays, Hachiko Gate remain one of the top places to visit among Shibuya Sky.  So, wait not, pop by and say hello to Hachiko!

Hachikō Memorial Statue

Superb ramen place! The ordering system is so easy and foreigner friendly - you order through an iPad on the table which also has an English menu. There's many different options and you can customize your order however you want through the iPad before ordering, including making your order vegetarian. Service was very fast after ordering, I believe we waited less than 2 minutes for our drinks and then less than another 5 minutes for the food. I also appreciated they use reusable chop sticks, not the cheap one-use ones.

The ramen itself is great, I had the white broth one. The broth was slightly more oily than I'd like it, but still great! Generous serving of pork as well. We also tried the gyoza, which were fine.

Noodles are awesome. Great service checking on you. They even gave us a bib when they saw me use paper as my bib.

Attention, vegans: there is no marked vegan options here anymore! Came here cause I saw on Google they had a separate vegan ramen menu. Unfortunately, this information is outdated, apparently they got rid of it. I still managed to compile a vegetarian meal for myself, not sure it was vegan cause I don’t know if the noodles have animal products and/or how they’re cooked. They were plain and didn’t smell of fish or meat, so I felt safe to eat them. Portions are huge. I ordered vegetables and sprouts as toppings but they came in the size of whole meals haha.

Hakata Ippudo

HARAJUKU VILLAGE

This stationary store is really great. They have so much more than you would expect and I ended up buying a bunch of pens and some different notebooks for work.

It’s definitely worth checking out. They have an entire floor dedicated to art and calligraphy as well.

Try to go when it might be a little less busy because it can feel a bit claustrophobic when there are a lot of customers.

If you love stationary, this is for you. The main building I visited has eight floors of stationary, from office to home, everyone will find something one likes in the store.

I visited around mid-August, and the first floor was my love - it’s full of merchandise from Disney’s 100th anniversary and some pop up artists’ works.

The shop can be crowded, and they only have escalators going up. Need to come down by stairs or lift, so suggest not to bring a huge luggage with you.

They also have an annex building showcasing pop up artists too.

Overall, it’s a good place to go if you like stationary or want to pick some local souvenirs!

This place is a dream come true to any stationery lover! The store has 12 floors; each floor dedicated to a category. The last floor has a cafe. Very satisfying experience!

I came with another person and we had to wait for a while for a table. That’s fine because you can sit outside the restaurant while waiting. Perfect service.
The food is mediocre, sadly. The person who came with me ordered a sea urchin dish and he thinks it’s average as well.
Perhaps it was because we were one of the very last orders for lunch? Maybe I should come back a second time and see if I’ll enjoy the food then.

Good delicious fresh Omakase sushi, super fresh sashimi and sushi to try. The  Definitely worth the money to try them!

The atmosphere here was really good and foreigner friendly. The food was super delicious and made to perfection. I had the "Otoro Fatty Tuna Sashimi, Ultimate Fresh Omakase sushi, Salmon Sashimi and Chawan Mushi" for dinner. The drink I had last was good too, the "Sakura To Momoko No Fizz non-alcoholic cocktail".

If you like sake, I heard that this place has very good selection of alcohol and sake to try!

KINKA sushi bar izakaya SHIBUYA

I dont know 😕 but when we buy obento here my childrens get sick they have vomiting and diarrhea for 4days so we will not buy obento or cook food here again. Other than that some international foods here are very expensive but when you buy it  in other store is much cheaper. That is my review

A cheap one-stop shop for daily consumer goods, gifts, wide varieties of toys, luggage, perfumes, house hold utilities, sports goods and bicycles.
Though the shop is open all the time, the rail accessibility is not good. Hence, a car drive would be perfect.

If you are looking for the alternative mega donki instead of shibuya one because of the crowds, I personally do not recommend it here since there's no English speaker at the store. They only have two floors and a very small section for adult toys, and there's no English translation for anything.  I visited during a weekday afternoon and the cashier was strict about my signature for some reason, it has to be exactly the same one on back of my credit card - which no place asked me to do so as I've been using it for the past year. And his attitude was off toward native like me, imagine how they are going to treat foreigners. If you wanna get more tourists stuff jus go to shibuya one even tho the waiting line is crazy.

MEGA Don Quijote

I traveled to Pokemon Centers all across Japan, from Osaka to Tokyo. It was extremely disappointing to learn that none of them sell unique merchandise anymore. With that being said, if you get here at opening, this is a good one to go to. The displays are amazing and are great for photo ops. It was relatively well stocked compared to some others, but again, I did come at opening. It gets extremely crowded 45 minutes to an hour after opening, so get here 5-15 minutes before opening to have the best experience.

Likely to be one of the largest around, huge floor space and you can find everything and anything about Pokémon there. If you are a Pokémon be warned that you will stucked there for long and likely wanna buy everything back.

Definitely worth a visit.

So many people its only for the bragging rights. The toys are not cheaper compared to less crowded Pokemon centre. But still a cool place to be in. If you go during your birthday you get a free birthday card with some stickers and promo code stuff for Nintendo switch

Extremely good ramen — you could tell by watching the chef he took it seriously. Convenient to H line Roppongi station.

Stopped by this place for lunch. The tsukemen was great. Noodles were cooked perfectly, soup was tasty, good balance of salt, umami, fat.

I had "Kyoto white miso ramen". Sweet ramen with sake lees on the front.

Visited with two colleagues from the company at 23:08 on Tuesday. The store is about half full.

It's the third party of the drinking party.

"Etoko Chicken Soy Sauce Ramen" was sold out.

We both chose "Kyoto white miso ramen". For drinks, I chose "Premium Malt's Draft Beer" and my colleague chose "Kaku Highball". It is about 1800 yen per person.

It takes about 10 minutes from handing over the meal ticket until the food comes out.

This "Kyoto no Shiromiso Ramen" is delicious if you ask me whether it's delicious or not, but if anything, it might be a ramen that appeals to women.

The impression is that the small and delicious vegetable soup that appears in French course appetizers is served as ramen soup.

Fried vegetables are on top.

Noodles are thin noodles. It mixes well with the soup.

However, I couldn't get the satisfaction I expected from so-called "miso ramen". A colleague had the same impression.

The white miso was described as ``a white miso sauce made by combining three types of Kyoto white miso and sake lees''. I see, this is the taste of sake lees. As for the overall taste, I had the impression that the sake lees were more prominent than the miso.

Rather than the ramen perfection, it simply didn't suit our situation (I want to eat ramen at the end of a drinking party).

This is such a true heaven for stationery lover. From pens, postcard to stamps, the store is big enough for you to shop for the whole day.

Shopping is very easy because it is conveniently located in Shibuya. I go there every time I go to Tokyo. The inside is also beautiful, so it's very relaxing.

It’s like Daiso but a bit more high-quality and pricier 😉 the Muji store is right next to it too which is convenient 👍🏻

Shibuya Loft

It might not be the most pleasant experience to be here at noon on a summer day with 38 degrees, but one can imagine how beautiful it would be being here at night for an event.

My recommendation: Come at night to enjoy the amazing video displays. If it is too hot or you like to get a bird's eye view, go to the Scramble Crossing Square shopping centre and make you way up...

At the end of the day it’s just a pedestrian crossing, however, it is a very iconic and famous crossing.
Well worth a visit to see this bizarre spectacle.
If you happen to catch it at a busy time you’ll be amazed by how many people get across the crossing at each time.
There are plenty of places nearby to get food and refreshments.
Excellent transport links.

Better experience at night. Shibuya crossing, a great tourist spot. Just visit to feel the place and experience the crowds. It’s amazing how smoothly people walk in from all directions. Great to view from all ends and also from a vantage point on top of the mall on the right side. Some shopping and food options around too. Trains metro to long distance all amazing, and smells good and organized.
My visits to Japan will surely treasure.

Shibuya Scramble Crossing

A very awesome part of Shinjuku - comes to life at night. It’s fascinating exploring the alley ways - so many little bars, many of which have themes and can only house small groups. I love the character of the place, such a vibe. My favourite little bar is Lemon no Ki. The couple who run this bar are so so lovely, awesome hospitality and they’re good fun. You pay a cover charge, and once seated you’ll be given bar snacks and there’s a small menu of drinks. I always have the plum wine. The hosts are kind, enjoy a laugh and are genuinely interested in their visitors.

This is a warren of lanes jostling with a multitude of tiny and cosy bars, sandwiched between the chaos of the red light district of Shinjuku and the tranquility of the Hanzono shrine. The bars in this area cater primarily to foreigners as this is one of the busiest tourist areas of Tokyo. It's definitely worth a visit, but if you are after an "authentic" izakaya experience you need to go to a different part of town

A fun area to go and experience the amazing hospitality in the tiny bars where you'll find great drinks and snacks.  Stroll around for a bit, find a bar you like the look of and head in.  The bars are small so you'll get to meet some really interesting people.

Shinjuku Golden Gai

It was a Timely moment for me to catch the sunset at Tokyo Waterfront City and what makes this experience even memorable was witnessing the sunset together with a group of visitors, all of whom having their smartphones or cameras ready too. There were a few Loving couples seen requesting passer-by to help them encapsulating this sunset moments by the Tokyo Bay as well. While the Kids were happily chasing around and not able to appreciate the sunset just as the adults do.

Beautiful smaller version of the Statue of liberty overlooking the water and centered between eye pleasing landscape and walking paths. Not worth coming for just this but fortunately everything you look at in this area is worth taking a picture. Gorgeous area, keep walking for the giant Gandum robot, cityscape, tulip gardens and massive shopping mall with huge selection of food and treats in the food court.

Went on a rainy night! A great view of the rainbow bridge plus the replica Statue of Liberty!!! Fun adventure and great walk to go across the rainbow bridge afterwards. Would recommend a visit!! This is different from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo feel.

This place is a must-visit in Tokyo! The exhibits stimulate all the senses, especially visually. The whole process was relatively smooth with good guidance from the workers. They also provide a locker to store valuables and shoes when you enter the building.

As a bonus, the surrounding area had a lovely area to view the sunset over the water!

Great museum with a lot of great experiences. Why not 5*****?
1. The crowd is too big. Yes they are trying to spread the guests, but still you are walking in a line from room to room. Less people would increase the experience.
2. The garden part was quite disappointing after visiting the water part.

Super amazing place. You’ll be in awe the whole time.
There are different areas you’ll get through.
You’ll go through dark pathways and might trigger those who have fear with closed dark spaces.
I thought my claustrophobia will trigger but I just enjoyed and there’s a little red or blue light though.
There are water areas with a strong smell of “chlorine” or the likes that will keep the water clean. Be sure to wear something that you can keep from the water so you won’t get wet.
There are glass areas so do not wear skirts or anything the likes. If you wear skirts, you can borrow a shorts from them.
There is an area where you feel like the place is revolving or you’re floating and can make you motion sickness or nausea or dizzy.

There are areas of lights, flowers, water with fish that will turn into petals when you touch them, garden area. A lot of beautiful areas.

Probably you’ll take an hour or two.

Book a ticket in advance. Entry is per schedule. And have fun!

teamLab Planets TOKYO

If you love Gundam Series it is a must-visit. It may be a little far from the busy part of Tokyo, but you can go to the shopping mall or visit the other parks in this area.

You can check the schedule of the light and sound shows. The best time is at sunset. You can see the details during the daylight and the lights as it gets darker.

It is free to watch, so it is only the commuting cost and some drinks to enjoy the show.

While I did not make it in time to see the various changes in the Gundam, this was a extremely cool statue to see. We went at around 2200-2230. Some places online state that the Gundam lights up every hour until 2300 however, we found this to be incorrect. The signs at the statue state in the evening its every 30min there is an event from 1900-2130. Will confirm and provide update with pictures of the schedule soon! While we missed the events, this is still worth coming by and taking a look!

We walked to the statues from Ariake and it was a very nice walk. When we arrived the 5pm light show was just starting. The statue shifts and lights up. The day time shows are on four times a day. In the evening there are longer light shows are at 7pm and 9pm.
