Absolutely stunning beach! 3€ entry but it's so worth it! Probably the best one on the island. Plus there is a lovely restaurant just on top of the cliff which offers great food and drinks and a spectacular view of the ocean. I do suggest arriving early as there were long queues to get in after 4pm.

Amazing bay with beautiful golden sand. Slightly out of the way, and be prepared for the dirt road access. But it is seriously with it.
Can get a little busy, especially at the weekend and in the afternoon.
There is a bar on the top of the cliff, actually, I think there are three, but only one was open when we were there.
Dirt steps are the access down from the cliff. Not far, but you've got to carry everything.
Would definitely recommend a visit.

€3 entry to the car park. The road is unpaved but any car can make their way over it. Definitely worth the trip if you're staying nearby. The water is clear and the sand is clean. Great for snorkeling. Make sure you bring your own food and drink.

Papagayo Beach

You have to pay 3€ to enter and drive through unpaved road for a while, but the beach is great and the water was totally clear; you could see the sea floor while floating 2 or 3 meters above it.

Get some swimming/driving glasses and enjoy the school of fishes by swimming like 30m away from the shore.

Sandy white beach. Beautiful to walk along in the morning coolness as the sun rises up and starts to heat the sand. Safe for swimming although no lifeguard. Can get very windy at times so if planning to stay bring a wind shield as there is only protection at either end of the beach from the wind using the rock, cliff face.

Playa Mujeres

Papagayo beach and playa mujeres are famous and for a reason! 
Both are located in a natural reserve, you'll need to buy a ticket for the day. There's a small trail to reach both beaches, but you won't need any SUV. A normal city car is fine,
