Is a hidden gem and tranquil
Retreat. The staff are amazing and genuinely kind and thoughtful. 2 weeks in this retreat has been a unique and amazing experience. The breakfast that was included in our package was truly a feast. They even offer days out with a driver, who are full or knowledge, suggestions and guidance.
The spa treatments at this hotel are excellent and carried out to a high standard, as are the free yoga and Thai Chi sessions.
It’s worth remembering that you will be amongst the wild life and jungle so should expect to see and experience all that this environment can bring.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to connect with nature and detach from the stresses of daily life.

Nice location close to town. Staff are very attentive. Breakfast quality isn’t great for the price and for a 5* especially the pastries have lots of room for improvement. Lots of stairs around - not so ideal for small children. Buffet is so so - not meeting up to the price point. Overall hotel management, house keeping etc could be better. Lots of potential for improvement.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a truly relaxing time. The food is to die for and the customer service was faultless. We booked the romantic dinner and spa package for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The service we received throughout the entire stay was wonderful. At the hotel reception you can book tours of Ubud which are insightful. Our tour guide ‘Patrick’ was amazing! He took us on a day tour and was very informative as well as hilarious! The staff at the hotel remembered our names which was lovely. Widi in particular was very helpful at breakfast time and helping us pick delicacies! We would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again !

A wonderful spot in an insanely beautiful location. We stayed for 3 nights with our kids during the rainy season in a 2 bedroom villa. The hotel is very remote and the road will test most vehicles. From the pool, restaurant and all rooms you are guaranteed a wonderful view with all the sounds expected of nature. As for being 5* and more importantly the price to value ratio - we felt like this was 4*. You are naturally going to eat all meals here and there is the odd wire sticking out left and right + a number of smaller details that just do not compare to other 5* hotels in Bali (which are also half the cost). We had a lovely time and the staff were very attentive though.

I stayed here with my girlfriend the drive to the hotel was a fun story but we'll worth the drive. When we first walked in we were greeted with the amazing view from the lobby. The staff member that helped us checked in was wonderful gave just enough information with us feeling overwhelmed. I want to emphasize just how good the staff and the service they provide was. They always addressed me by my name and a smile which might not seem like much but that was just the start of how good the staff were. They always made us feel taken care off, always were they're to help us with anything that comes with traveling such as transportation and information for currency exchange locations. We had a third party driver for our stay and he was also treated well by the staff which i greatly appreciated. I don't think I can say enough good things about the staff here from the front desk to the masseuses everything was world class. The room was great as well, clean, spacious and beautiful views. Food was delicious with again great views from the restaurant and the great staff always making everything better. When i return to Bali i will always return to this location and I'm very grateful for the staff and hope they are appreciated by who ever stays here.

We had a very pleasant stay at the property. It was a very quiet and peaceful stay here at Samsara. The sound of nature was just so soothing. The staff at the hotel are very polite and helpful, a special mention to Rusto for helping us out at the Restaurant/Bar and the food was also excellent. Just a suggestion that more options for Vegetarian should be added.

The incredible thing when you drove among rice terrace and farm then you've suddenly met the beauty of Mount Batur. Such a nice view and surprisingly not really cold. Definitely will visit another viewpoint if possible.

Monkey Forest is the perfect attraction for all ages and a respite from the heat. You can spend a long time watching the monkeys play with each other. The park itself is beautiful. There are amazingly detailed statues everywhere. The monkeys are great just follow the rules. Don't make eye contact and carry your belongings tight. There are many ancient banyan trees. You may only need a couple hours at most to see everything. Definitely a place to see if you're in Ubud.

Would not do this again. The monkey forest is not a sanctuary. It is a tourist trap designed for people to indulge in exploitative photo opportunities with monkeys.

These beautiful animals deserve better. We saw a Chinese tourist exiting one of the First Aid centres on his way to hospital after being bitten as well as two young girls foolishly holding a water bottle being chased by a monkey. Signs clearly state no water bottles. They also state "no feeding monkeys", yet the staff use food to get monkeys to sit and climb on tourists for pictures. This has conditioned the monkeys to climb on people.

We kept our distance. All of my pictures were taken with a zoom lens and we kept moving, Staying still had you surrounded by monkeys who do not understand the difference between someone sitting down to rest and someone paying to have a picture taken by using food as an incentive.

Beautiful Forest but not entirely comfortable with monkeys being used as props. I love monkeys but they are wild and deserve respect 🐒  I felt very sad for these monkeys and at times nervous for my safety 🐒 🙈

Edit update: the responses to poor reviews by the owner are a clear picture of what you get when you visit.

The temples and statues are interesting to see, alongside the main attraction, the monkeys!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon at 4PM. I thought it might be busy with tourists, but it wasn’t too bad. As time went on the place became quieter.

We walked around the whole complex and saw so many monkeys. Incredible. We had no issues with the monkeys. After reading reviews I didn’t take any loose items (water, sunglasses, jewellery); we were not bothered by them. I carried my phone and my husband had a bum bag.

We kept our distance from the monkeys and respected them in their habitat. Read and follow the rules and you’ll have a great time. 🙏 Such a lovely place, suitable for the whole family.
